Project Summary

The Labrador City Recreation Hub is one of the centre pieces of town’s recreation amenities and offers residents and visitors access to an arena, curling club, softball field, multipurpose courts, a skatepark, and a BMX pump track. The site was unplanned, growing naturally over time, and the Town recognized that there was currently little unity between these features. Further, the Town wished to expand its recreation offerings by adding two new soccer fields, an enhanced skate park and pump track, a minor softball field, and a gymnastics facility. A new vision was needed which would be strongly informed by feedback from the community. Mills & Wright was retained by the Town and completed all community engagement and conceptual design.
